History of TSUJIKAWA
We, TSUJIKAWA CORPORATION, are a company that keeps evolving with the mission of "Make the world more beautiful and comfortable and enrich people's minds and lives through engraving technology” by combining new technologies with the skills that we have cultivated for 100 years from the beginning of our founding.
In 1921, our founder, Riichi Tsujikawa, started manufacturing metal plates for sealing printing and engraving in Abeno Ward, Osaka City. By introducing the corrosion method of photoengraving technology to steel plate engraving, he succeeded in producing large quantities of steel plate engraving, and he also trained metal engraving technicians, contributing to the engraving industry from then on.
During the war, the company was involved in the production of munitions engraving and measuring scales, etc. After the war, the photoengraving and mechanical engraving departments were expanded, and the company became the first in the engraving industry that introduced German-made engraving machines. Since then, TSUJIKAWA has refined its engraving techniques, including machine engraving, and in the latter half of the Showa period (1926-1989), the company became a cooperative factory of the Mint Bureau of the Ministry of Finance.
Toward the Next 100 Years
We continue to make daily efforts to fulfill our customer’s needs, and over the 100 years since our founding, TSUJIKAWA's core technology of "engraving" has now evolved into "decorating," "cutting," and "shaping" technologies. These three technologies are used in various products such as cosmetics, toiletries, food, home appliances, daily necessities, and stationery products. Therefore, TSUJIKAWA’s technologies can be glimpsed in every aspect of our daily lives. While we value the traditional hand-engraving using chisels and hammers from the time of the company's founding, we also continue to take on the challenge of sculpting and modeling by using engraving machines, machining centers, 3D printers, and 5-axis processing machines in order to support a wider variety of products. TSUJIKAWA's strength is in its engraving technology that combines cutting-edge technology with craftsmanship handed down for over the past 100 years.
The techniques that we have developed are not only useful to people in Japan but also to people around the world. TSUJIKAWA has expanded into five countries with the recent progress of globalization: China, Thailand, Indonesia, India, and Vietnam. We provide high-quality products made with TSUJIKAWA's engraving technology to Japanese companies as well as local companies.
TSUJIKAWA has been providing high-quality products to many customers with our engraving technology. During the 100 years of constantly fulfilling the needs of society and customers, we have inherited and created new technologies through various challenges. This history of overcoming challenges has made TSUJIKAWA what it is today, and for the next 100 years, we will continue to evolve and take on new challenges with the mission of "Make the world more beautiful and comfortable and enrich people's minds and lives through engraving technology.”
